Why Cylinder Size Matters
When it comes to vacuum pumps, cylinder size is everything. A cylinder that is close to your girth forms a clean seal and lets the vacuum do its work comfortably. A cylinder that is too wide never seals properly, wastes suction and can pinch, while one that is far too narrow feels tight and restrictive. Get the diameter right and everything else falls into place.
The good news: choosing your LeLuv cylinder size is simple once you know that diameter is chosen by girth, not by length. Below we cover how to measure, how to read LeLuv’s sizing, and which diameter most men should start with.
How to Measure for Your Cylinder
You only need a soft tape measure or a strip of paper and a ruler. Measure when fully erect, since that is the state you’ll be pumping in.

- Measure girth: wrap the tape around the thickest part of your erect shaft and note the circumference in inches.
- Convert to diameter: divide your girth (circumference) by 3.14 to get the diameter. For example, a 6.28 inch girth is about a 2.0 inch diameter.
- Add a little room: choose a cylinder whose internal diameter is roughly a quarter to a half inch larger than your measured diameter, so blood can flow and the tissue has room to respond.
- Check the length: LeLuv’s standard 9 inch cylinder length suits most men; only size up in length if you exceed it when erect.
LeLuv’s Most Common Cylinder Sizes
Internal diameters, and who each one suits best.
1.75 inch
A snug fit for a slimmer girth, or for anyone who wants maximum contact and a tight seal from the first session.
2.0 inch
The most popular LeLuv cylinder and the best all-round starting size. Comfortable for most men, with room to grow into.
3.0 inch
A roomier diameter for a fuller girth, or the natural next step once you have progressed beyond a 2 inch cylinder.
3.7 inch
LeLuv’s widest standard diameter, ideal for men with the largest girth or those who have sized up over time.
Which Size Should Most Men Start With?
If you are new to pumping and your measurement lands anywhere in the average range, the LeLuv 2 inch cylinder is the recommended starting point. It is LeLuv’s best-selling size for a reason: it is comfortable, forms a reliable seal for most men, and leaves a little headroom as you progress.
Prefer a complete setup? The LeLuv Primo Pro+ pairs a ready-to-use pump with a 9 inch by 2 inch round-flange cylinder, so you get the popular starting size and a matched handle in one box.

When to Step Up a Size
Many men find that after weeks or months of consistent, gentle use, their previous cylinder starts to feel snug and no longer fills the way it used to. That is the signal to move up one diameter, for example from a 2.0 inch to a 3.0 inch cylinder.
Because LeLuv cylinders use standard fittings, you can usually keep your existing pump handle, hose and gauge and simply add the next cylinder size, an affordable way to keep progressing without replacing your whole setup.

Cylinder Size FAQs
Choose by girth, not length. Measure the circumference of the thickest part of your erect shaft, divide by 3.14 to get the diameter, then pick a cylinder whose internal diameter is about a quarter to a half inch larger for a comfortable seal. Most men start with the 2 inch LeLuv cylinder.
For most men new to pumping, yes. The 2.0 inch internal diameter is LeLuv’s most popular size and a comfortable, reliable starting point. If your measured diameter is noticeably smaller or larger, adjust to a 1.75 inch or a 3.0 inch accordingly.
Diameter (girth) is what determines the seal and comfort, so it is the key measurement. Length only needs to comfortably accommodate you when erect. LeLuv’s standard 9 inch length works for most men, with longer options available if you need them.
A cylinder that is too wide won’t form a proper vacuum seal, so you lose suction and effectiveness. One that is too narrow feels tight and restrictive. A diameter close to your girth, with a little room, gives the best balance of comfort and results.
Step up a size when your current cylinder starts to feel snug and no longer fills the way it did, typically after consistent use over time. Move up one diameter, for example 2.0 inch to 3.0 inch, and keep your existing handle and hose.
In most cases, yes. LeLuv cylinders use standard fittings compatible with LeLuv handles and hoses, so you can add or swap sizes without buying a whole new pump. Check your model’s fitting before ordering.
